Things To Consider When Hiring an Inspector
For maximum benefit and liability protection when hiring an inspector it is essential to hire a home inspector with all of the following credentials. If the inspector is missing any of these important credentials particularly the Errors and Omissions insurance. Do not hire them.
Certification:
certification by a reputable training institute and association, which requires testing and ongoing training, such as the Inspection Training Association (ITA).
Insurance:
insurance coverage, including general liability, and most importantly Errors and Omissions insurance, which is similar to malpractice insurance.
Impartiality:
the inspection should be performed exclusively in the interest of the client.
Community service:
for every home inspected THI donate minimum of 5% to The Make-a-Wish Foundation*.
